Today I will tell you about the second activity that helps you to tap into the empowering energy of horses.
Everybody at Horse Guided Empowerment® loves this activity, even though it can cause some controversial discussion. It clearly is my personal, all-time favorite thing to do with my herd. We all enjoy it. But…
I do them all the time and quite honestly, my life would be different if I couldn’t rely on the empowering energy of my herd.
I work a lot. And then our sweet rescue mare Zoe unexpectedly passed two weeks ago. I fell into a big hole while juggling business, counseling clients, kids, and my own emotions.
Trust me, I need a lot of empowering horses in my life!
Last week you learned to meet the horse in a respectful way. This week, we will ask the horse to show respect to us. We will do this with the “Ground Tie”. Ground tying is when a horse stands in the place you ask him to stand without being tied to anything and he doesn’t move away.
The best strategy is to focus on something else and not pay attention to your horses. Did you know that a herd will choose the least needy as their preferred partner to hang out? You need to be the least needy in the pasture. Which is SO HARD and completely different from your previous interactions with horses. When we visit them, we have a plan in our head, such as riding, checking on them, feeding, feeling loved, or taking care.
This time, YOU WANT NOTHING.
How do you achieve that a horse, voluntarily, chooses to lie down and rest next to you? No tricks, no cues, just because he wants to? I´ll make it official now – as an HGE facilitator I guarantee that you will, sooner or later, see horses lying down next to you and your clients. Not because we train them to do so! They do it as their own, free choice. When a horse is allowed to share their opinion, it will help us achieve a coherent heart rhythm and inner harmony.
