Rachel Palmąka Mace is writing portraits of eighty women from around the world for her AW80W project on Medium. I was honored to be one of them. We talked about my journey from Germany to Ecuador, how horses became my path to healing, and what it means to build a life from scratch in a place that feels like home.

About this feature

This article is part of "Around the World with Eighty Women," a beautiful series by writer Rachel Palmąka Mace, published on Medium's Fourth Wave. Rachel interviews women from all over the world about their lives, their choices, and what drives them.

How it came about

Rachel reached out to me after learning about my work with horses in Ecuador. We had a long, honest conversation about my life — from growing up in a complicated home in Germany, to moving to South America, to building a method that now reaches people in over 26 countries. It felt like talking to a friend.

What the article covers

The piece explores my personal story: why I left Germany, what it was like to start over in Cotacachi with my three boys and a herd of horses, and how Horse Guided Empowerment grew from a personal passion into a worldwide program. Rachel also asked me about risk-taking, self-trust, and what it really means to believe in yourself as an entrepreneur.
